How to Add a Custom MP3 Ringtone in Windows Mobile 7.5 – Nokia Lumia

If you have a Windows Mobile and tired of trying to add custom MP3 Ringtones in Mango 7.5, Here is your tutorial. Today we will learn how to add your own custom MP3 ringtone in Windows Phone. We have used a Nokia Lumia 800 to show you how this works in Zune. Basically all windows phones are the same, no matter what ever the phone is. Which ever phone is having a Windows 7.5 Mango operating system, can follow the same procedure we have mentioned below. And in our previous posts, we have showed you how to add Sync Documents and PDF files in Windows phones via Zune. Also we have showed you how to Install Free apps in your Windows Mobile Phone.

We will show you how to add a MP3 file as a custom MP3 ringtone in Windows Phones. Usually this option will not be available in Windows phone where you can select any MP3 song as “Set as Ringtone”. You have to follow certain steps to add your custom ringtone. So lets check out how do we do it. Please follow the steps very carefully. If you miss any single step, you wont be able to find the Ringtone in your Windows Phone.

Steps to Add a Custom MP3 Ringtone in Windows Phones – Nokia Lumia 800

Step 1: Connect your Windows Phone to Zune Via Data cable wire. If you are not having Zune application, you can get it from Official Zune Website.

Step 2: Select any MP3 or WAV file from your PC which is less than 1MB size. Also keep this point in mind that your MP3 or WAV file duration can not more than 40 seconds.

Step 3: Now add your selected file in Zune Music Collection by just dragging and dropping the file. But make sure that the file follows Step 2 Constraints.

Step 4: Once the file is adding into your Zune Collection, Find the file you wanted to add it as custom ringtone and right click on it to edit it.

Step 5: Once you click on Edit, you can see a Song Info where you can edit Song Title, Genre and Etc. Now click on Genre and Type the Genre as Ringtone.

Step 6: After renaming the file, Just drag and drop the file to your Phone and disconnect your phone to check the file in your Windows Phone.

Step 7: That’s it. Once you have done the Step 5 and 6 successfully, go to your Windows Phone Settings and Click on Ringtones and Sounds -> Ringtone -> Custom -> “your custom ringtone”

Step 8: Now you can click on that Custom Ringtone to set it as your ringtone and enjoy your own MP3 songs as Ringtones.

If you didn’t find any ringtones which are less than 1MB or 40seconds in your PC or if you feel lazy to download latest Ringtones from Internet, you can make your own ringtones in just few seconds.

Just download a software called, Total Video Converter (TVC) to convert any MP3 to any size, type and duration you want.
