Blogger RSS Feed Not Working in WordPress

Hi, I have recently migrated my blog from blogger to wordpress self hosting. I was not familiar with wordpress much, the plugin’s and tools were really confusing. Thanks to my friends Vivekanand and Suraj Vibuthe who are experienced in this stuff. They helped me a lot to understand things well. So when i observed that all of my traffic and RSS readers have fall down to half, i taught its because of blog migration and didn’t concentrated much on it and started posting articles. After one week the situation was even worse. As i go on posting the articles, there was no change in the traffic. Then i started to realize that my RSS feed is not working.  I was totally frustrated and started to search about the articles here and there. But nothing helped me much.

So i decided to sort my problem my self. I understand that my feed url in feedburner feed details was the older one which is use to use for blogger. So i don’t know how to update that so that it would work for wordpress too. Finally i have done some own troubleshooting steps which resolved my problem.Just follow the simple steps.

  1. Log to your feedburner  account : Login
  2. After log in select the feed title which you want.
  4. Select the feed which you want. I have selected coolpctips feed.
  5. Now go to Troubleshooting tab and click on Edit Feed Details.
  6. You will be asked to Enter the Feed Title and Feed URL.
  7. If you already have some address and some title in that, remove them and try to add a new title and a default URL.
  8. I have entered my default Feed URL as http://www.coolpctips.com/feed/ and Saved it.
  10. As you can see the above screen shot, I got a feed address which is my Site heading tag. (http://feeds.feedburner.com/LatestTipsAndTricks-Computers)
  11. Save Feed Details and Now login to your wordpress admin dashboard.
  12. Install a small plugin named as FD Feedburner Plugin so that you can redirect all your main feed to your wordpress feed via feedburner.
  13. After installing and activating the plugin just open it. You can find that plugin in Plugins –> Feedburner Configuration.
  14. Now enter your Feed address in redirect my feeds here: which you have acquired in step 9. (http://feeds.feedburner.com/LatestTipsAndTricks-Computers)
  15. Uncheck the 3 advanced options, save and exit.
  16. Finish :D Now you can see all your feeds updating as soon as you write a post.

Optional Widgets :

Now you have your feed address, its time to publicize it.

  1. Go to your feedburner account and then click on Publicize tab.
  2. Click on Email Subscriptions under services (leftside) and then Choose a language.
  3. Copy the subscription code and paste it in your wordpress template with a text widget and save it.
  4. You can also show a feed count chicklet to show how many readers you got.
  5. To get this, just click on Feed Count under services in publicize tab.

Google adsense ads repeat

So what i am talking about? Confused? Don’t worry i will explain you. Actually what i want to say is Why Google ads in a website or a blog will repeat same ads even though the content is different. All the 3 places will be showing the same ads as previous one is showing in all the pages. So why this happens? Actually this happened me 2 days before when i realized that all the ads in 3 ad locations in each and every page was showing same as i see in home page. This made my earnings go down and i had 0 earnings from 10 days.

So i decided to mail the adsense team (adsense-support@google.com) but as usual there was no response from them.
Then i realized  that the Google bot was not indexing my page from 15days to search the relevant key words and display the ads. Then i deleted all my ads and started to load the fresh code of each and every location with the same previous code. It started to show different ads just for 5mins and again the problem was the same :( So i heard from a friend of mine that we have to ping the blog to get it indexed by the bot.
So i pinged my blog in some of the ping websites like www.pingomatic.com
and www.pingoat.com and waited for the site to finish pinging to all the areas.

And also resubmitted my sitemap in Google webmasters.This worked for me and within 10 mins the ads were now showing different ads in all 3 different places relevant to the content.

But my Mozilla Firefox was not showing different ads in different locations so i asked one of my friend satish sridharan  writes for www.satishmania.com to check whether he can see same ads in his Firefox or not. He checked the site and to my surprise all the ads very different unlike before. So i too checked my site in Opera and Safari which showed me different ads in all the areas.
So i realized that my Firefox cookies and cache were stopping me to see my ads. So deleted all the cookies and cache and etc in the following way
Tools –> Clear Recent History –> Check all boxes (Everything) in it and click on OK. And also re-installed my Firefox. Now to my surprise i can see all the ads different in the 3 ad locations and from then i made of habit of pinging my blog at least once in 3 days and every time i write a post.
So what i recommend for this problem is
1) Re-install the codes once again. Try not to use default adsense in blogger.
2) Ping your blog at least once in a week which will also increase the traffic.
3) Clear the cookies and cache in your browser regularly .
4) Also resubmit your sitemap your page in Google Webmasters for a better result and faster indexing of all your pages.
