HP Launches Chromebook 14 – Targets Schools and Colleges

HP launched its new 14 inch Chromebook today. The 14 inch screen and large size makes it more comfortable while typing, in comparison with competing Chromebooks, which usually hover around the 11 inch form factor. Featuring the current generation Intel Celeron 2955U processor, it has enough power for everyday tasks. HP Chromebook 14 will be available in 3 different colors, namely Coral Peach, Ocean Turquoise and Snow White.

The new Chromebook 14 is apparently targeting the education sector with the Google Chrome operating system being designed for online use. HP claims the major benefit to be that information stays in the cloud, which allows students to see their own, customized environment on any computer. The different colors are also specifically made for schools to differentiate different units by different colors.

The Chrome operating system makes it easy to access data from home aswell, because of its online nature. Multiple students can log in to the same computer which does not have previous student’s data on it. The education sector is thus, mainly targeted.
