Nokia’s BH-121 Bluetooth Stereo Headset Launched

The long awaited and rather often leaked gadget from Nokia, the BH-121 Bluetooth Stereo Headset, is finally official. The news came out from the Finnish handset maker through their Nokia Conversations site. Priced at 39 Euros in Europe, the headset will cost around Rs. 3,300 in India. There is still no news about the actual launch regions, but it should hit Indian stores by the end of this month. The colorful headset can be connected to the smartphone through NFC. It also comes with multi-point support, so the headset can connect to more than one device. There is of course Bluetooth pairing available on the headset as well, to connect to non-NFC smart phones.

The BH-121 supports advanced Bluetooth features like A2DP/AVRCP and HFP/HSP profiles. It is made compatible with Asha 501 & 503, Lumia 525, 625, 925, 1020, 1320 & 1520. Available in 4 different colors- Yellow, Red, Black and Cyan, the head set measures 39 x 39 x 12mm and sports an LED indicator for battery check with a square design. The blue tooth works in the range of 10 meters.

With a 110 mAh battery, the headset promises 6 hours of continuous talktime and 6 hours of music playback.  You can save the battery of your phone with this device. Handling phone calls and playing music the device was first leaked as Nokia ‘Guru’ in October. The Bluetooth headset BH-121 can be easily clipped onto clothes for easy carrying. The play button can be used to answer calls and play music. The head set is slightly bigger than the iPod Shuffle.

Volume buttons are also available to the right side along with a microphone and there will be no need to pull out your handset every time to adjust the volume or answer a call. An ON and OFF key is also available on the device to shuffle the songs.

There is a 3.5 mm headphone jack and micro USB port available on the bottom of the device. Devices which work with this headset, also works with a plantronics wireless headset. Bluetooth connectivity will help manage calls and it will come with a pair of cool WH-208 in-ear headphones in the same colors as their main player. The accessory definitely looks colorful and trendy. You can charge the headset quite easily too, via the Micro USB port. Let’s hope it launches in India soon!
