BSNL Launches Internet Ready “Bharat Phone” At Rs.1799 and Other Devices

The state-run telecom services provider BSNL has showered its customers with a range of gadgets this year end. BSNL has launched an internet ready phone for just Rs 1,799. A tablet and two other smart phones costing between Rs 7,000 and Rs 8,000 are also making their way to stores soon.

The internet ready phone, termed as “Bharat Phone” offers dual SIM functionality. It has an impressive 3-inch display screen with the ability to access e-governance services like streaming data delivery, tele-medical care delivery and mobile banking. It also allows internet browsing and access to Facebook, email, music and video downloads. According to BSNL the device is powered with an 1800 mAh Lithium-Ion battery with up to 15 days standby time and 8 hrs of talk time. The device, which targets rural India will be packed with 1200 minutes of free talk time split over 12 months.

The state-owned telecom operator partnered with Pantel Technologies and came up with an entry-level feature phone for Rs 1,799. The brilliant idea to cater the need of common man has been put into practice and the internet-ready ‘Bharat Phone’ was launched. The affordable ‘Bharat Phone’ is a dream come true for the common man.

Along with this great phone, BSNL is also launching three other devices, a 5 inch smartphone for 6,999 and a 6.5 inch smart phone for Rs 7,999 respectively, as well as another affordable tablet PC for just Rs 6,999. All of them are bundled with BSNL special tariff vouchers (STVs). The STVs are bundled up for different segments of the society. The devices are preloaded with anti-malware offerings from TrustPort.

These products, bundled with attractive voice and Internet plans from BSNL are said to gain quick market acceptance and saliency. With the affordable prices and great data service plans, BSNL has already over won many consumers in India. The 7 inch tablet offers 300 minutes of free talktime and 3 GB of 3G data. The Android tablet with a multiple user-environment allows users to personalize applications and set their own screen interface. This device will be available on HomeShop 18, which is the online retailing partner for BSNL.

The 5 inch smartphone, priced at Rs 6,999, comes with 15 GB cloud storage and another 4 GB internal storage. The device holds a panoramic 5 megapixel rear camera, gesture motion texting and GPS. Powered by a 2500 mAh battery, the 6.5 inch Smartphone offers 100 hrs standby time. The applications of this gadget run on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean software. Gesture typing, quick screen navigation and voice based Google search are the main features of this phone. This device will offer world-class 3G data services to a wide range of Indian consumers.
