Zen Ultra Tab A100 Technical Specifications:

Coming to the technical specifications of Zen UltraTab A100, it has quite decent specs at that price range. Let us check few hardware specs of this tablet in the below article.

The UltraTab A100 works on a 1.2 GHz processor, which comes with a ARM’s powerful Mali 400 graphics processor. The Mali 400 is an autonomous GPU which helps in independent power management for the GPU. This will help the device to support with more battery life. This device has a 512 MB DDR3 RAM and 4 GB of ROM memory. This device also supports Ethernet LAN via MicroUSB to RJ45 cable. It is also WiFi enabled and supports 3G via plug in dongle. Apart from these specs, the most interesting spec which took my attention was the 1.3 MP front camera. Usually tablets at this price range comes with a VGA camera. And the external memory card slot provided can be expandable up to 32GB using a TF card.

Design and Display:

The UltraTab A100 has decent dimensions of 181.5 x 121 x 10.5 and weighs about 295gms. The device has a 7 inch capacitive touch screen with an aspect ratio of 16:9. The provided screen resolution of 800 x 480 pixels is pretty good for video playback. The device looks slim, simple and is pretty light weighted.

Operating System and Features:

The UltraTab runs on Android v4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich and can play HD videos very well. The device can play and read most of the file formats like MP2, MP3, WAV, AAC, WMA, MPEG1/2/4, MJPEG, H263, H264, JPG, BMP, PNG, ePUB, PDF, TXT and HTML. Videos of 800 x 480 resolution can play smoothly and apps like MX Player or BS player makes the video experience wonderful. For playing Matroska (MKV) video files apps are available all over the Android market.

The bundle comes in with a Li-ion polymer battery of 2800 mAh. Total video play back time for a fully charged UltraTab A100 is about 4 hours and for videos on Wi-Fi the time is about 3.5 hours. The battery gets drained out far early when compared to its counterparts in the market available at the same price range.

  • 1.3 MP front camera
  • Light weight
  • Cheaper in its range of tablets.

  • No HDMI port.
  • Low battery life
  • Panel quality could be better.

The device costs less than few of the low priced tablets in the market. The only advantage of the device of that range is its 1.3MP front camera which makes your video calls and recordings look better than those with a VGA camera. Absence of the HDMI port and poor battery performance makes it fall behind the Micromax Funbook. For the people who wish to buy low budget Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich tablets can certainly target this tablet as their first choice. If users want to connect their tablet to HD screens then this is not your piece of cake. Seeing the tough competition in this tablets market,  you should seriously wait to see the success of Zen UltraTab A100. You can buy this Zen UltraTab A100 tablet for Rs 5,999 at Homeshop.com
